Probably collected in 1913 by Joseph K. Dixon (1856-1926, photographer and filmmaker) during his work on the "Wanamaker Expedition of Citizenship," which was sponsored by Rodman Wanamaker (1863-1928, Wanamaker department stores) to present American flags to 189 tribes and emphasize the importance of Native citizenship; acquired by MAI in 1927.
