This print formerly in the collection of David T. Vernon (1900-1973). Before 1968, Vernon's collection was purchased by the Jackson Hole Preserve, Inc. (a foundation backed by Laurance S. Rockefeller, 1910-2004, and other members of the Rockefeller family). Photographs in Vernon's collection may have come to MAI via an exchange with the Jackson Hole Preserve in 1968 or may have been donated directly to MAI by Laurance Rockefeller.
